Maquitec is already preparing its eighth show which will be held from the 10th to the 14th of March 2009 in Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via Exhibition Centre. Over 1,100 companies will be showcasing metallurgy-related equipment, technology, production processes and services necessary in industrial activity.
At Maquitec’s next show, there will be an increase in the presence of industrial innovation. The organisers will be promoting the participation of a larger number of subcontracting, engineering and robotics companies with the aim of attracting new buyers from sectors with emerging demand such as aeronautics, wind power and railroad transport, in addition to professionals from industrial activities who already visit the fair. Maquitec expects an audience of over 22,000 visitors.
20,000 m2 in Gran Vía’s pavilions 2 and 3 will house the products displayed at more than 320 stands. Represented companies specialise in the following: stock-removing machine tools, metal-forming machine tools, welding, subcontracting, cutting tools, hydraulics, pneumatics CAD / CAM, measuring and control, thermal and surface treatments, accessories, automatisms, tooling, robotics engineering and support services.
Maquitec, held biennially in odd years, is the industrial market’s benchmark event in Spain for manufacturers and distributors who wish to make contact with buyers from different industrial sectors. Maquitec’s main target area is the north east of the peninsula, where 40% of demand is concentrated. The show is also of interest to markets in Portugal, Southern France, Italy, Mediterranean countries and Eastern Europe.
In 2009, Maquitec will continue to host activities tailor-made to the needs of Spanish industry, especially in terms of innovation.
